About

Shaking hands & sharing hearts

That's how a good relation starts

God is our Creator. He our Father. Our Home.
And He's the Source of our identity and destiny
(Gen 1:26)

From the Mere is all
about coming back home.

Returning home to a relationship with the Father the way He originally intended. Free to enter His room whenever we want to, even when we messed up completely. Knowing we're always met with Love, Acceptance, Patience, Hope and Faith. Sharing our lives with Him daily (even the little things), hearing Him speak and following His lead.

Also returning home to ourselves: our original identity and purpose. To be restored to who He created us to be: confident in His love, healthy, at peace, filled with joy and deeply connected to His Spirit. But also uncover the highly authentic person inside every one of us, that's often burried underneath the dust of life on this earth. To learn to partner with Him by using our unique abilities to care for the world He gave us dominion over.

Hi! I'm Sjoukje.

Pronounced somewhat like 'Shawkya'

I'm nearing the end of my 30's, am single and live in the north of the Netherlands.
My job is demanding, but very satisfying. As a entrepeneur & social worker I run a social work facility for people that love to work but are unable to due to physical, social or mental challenges. Together we run a foundation that tries to reduce the effects of poverty on nearly 300 children in our local area.

Earthly life has great perks, and my favorites are musical theatre, art, music, audio books, re-designing my apartment, history and travel.

Since I grew up in church I learned to love and obey the Lord from an early age on. It took me a long time to find out that God's desire wasn't for me to be a perfect, rule-abiding Christian on the outside. He wanted a real love relationship, inluding all the realness and mess that sometimes comes with it.

Eversince, I've been on a journey with the Lord. A journey of healing, realness, laughter and tears. A journey through some deep valleys, but so far I have for sure gained a thousand times more than what it cost me.

I'm still going. I'm still struggling, falling and getting back up. But it's still worth every second  of it.
